the adventures of fishboy and cameragirl

This past Saturday, a family friend of our's, Vincent, hosted the annual pool party at their place. It's usually the huge gang that we celebrate Thanksgiving and New Year's with. We've known each other practically since birth. We've been meeting up a lot less over the last couple years because we've all undergone growth spurts and suddenly any house we go to starts feeling a little claustrophobic.
As per tradition, the boys invade the pool and stage massive water fights. Afterwards, there's always the fight between the girls, who want to watch a movie, and the boys, who want to play video games. And then, well into the night, after the dad's finish their mahjohng game, the older set claim the table for a couple sets of mahjohng before we have to go. All throughout, there's food cooking on the barbecue and plenty of costco cookies to go around.

Warning: A lot of pictures lie ahead. I just couldn't choose the ones I wanted to show you guys. Water fascinates me to no end, the way each particle clings to another and just seems to float through the air, catching the light as it falls. It's magical.

These amazing windows they have by the sunroom.

I suppose you guys wouldn't believe me if I said I got an underwater camera, would you?

Meet Jeff, Maggie's cousin from Taiwan who's living here for the summer to take some summer classes in English. Total cutie, and turns out he's a pretty fantastic swimmer, so hot bod too. And sweet as anything. Haha, needless to say, there was some mild creeping going on that day. He's exactly a year and a day younger than me. It wasn't that creepy though, I swear. He likes showing off his mad swimming skills.

Jenny, who's 11. Adorable. :D

Areta, one of my oldest friends. We grew up together and lived in the same house for like a year.

I eventually convinced the boys to fall off the back of the diving board for me.

If only this one was in focus. D:

Later on, we took a walk in the neighborhood, accompanied with dozens of fireflies, twinkling in the air around us.

And of course our mahjohng game.

actually, i was kidding about the underwater camera part. she's floating right under the surface of the water and i'm actually taking the picture from above.

Wow, your pictures are amazing even if you were just having fun and not aiming at professional quality.
